Update from SMSD
Smoky Mountain Self-Defense would like to take a moment to notify students and friends that on Tuesday evening, James “Luke” Shields left this earth and is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior. Luke is the beloved father of Owner and Head Instructor Roy “Hoot” Shields and much-loved grandfather of student, Audrey Shields. As we take this time to mourn, there is solace in knowing that Mr. Shields put his faith in God and is reunited with his precious wife and is in pain no more. This is not “goodbye,” but it is, “we’ll see you there.”
The family will be Receiving Friends at Smith’s Mortuary in Maryville, TN. on Friday evening 3-12-16 from 5-7 PM, with funeral services immediately following. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Maryville, TN on Saturday morning 3-13-16 at 11 AM. Instead of a procession from funeral home, family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 AM. Also, Roy and Audrey have requested that in lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of his life be made to the, “No More Victims Foundation,” that was supported and discussed with Luke during its early stages of development. Donations can be made by going to: nmvfoundation.org.
Thank you from the Shields family and from the staff at Smoky Mountain Self-Defense.
